In 2009, Casselle Mountford worked as artist in Residence on North Stradbroke Island for four week Her residency culminated in art installation along the Gorge Walk at Pt Lookout. Casselle Mountford is an award winning artist and her specialist area is eco ephemeral art. She has done residency work with Noosa Regional Gallery, the Botanic Gardens and internationally. The installations were made with natural and found materials from the island. The work was installed for the two weeks of the school holidays, June 27 – July 12.
Photographs of the installation, are by Kate Howe. Dozens of children and young people participated in a two hour Tree Dressing workshop with Casselle at the mouth of the Gorge Walk. Photographs of the installations and workshops were also projected onto the southern or Dunwich facing wall of Moreton Bay Research Station, Cnr of Flinders Ave. & Fraser St., early evening July 24.
